COMPUTERS?

Let's face it. Computers are scary at the beginning. We all know somebody who is at that point right now. It might be you or your parents or an older work colleague who no longer has a PA to do their computer work for them. The kind of person who ...

  • ... doesn't know what to do next after pressing the power button.
  • ... is confused by the buttons on a mouse.
  • ... pecks away with one finger and can't get a capital letter
  • .... turns pale, gets the knee wobbles and the cold sweats at the mere sight of a computer screen.
  • ... thinks they're not good enough and gives up way too quickly.
  • ... doesn't even know how to save a file, where to save it or how to find it again.
  • ... gets completely overwhelmed at the vast array of buttons and options on the screen.
  • ... feels scared to touch anything or click anything in case something breaks!
  • ... gets called a dinosaur by the millenials, laughs it off but secretly feels left behind.
  • ... has tried asking friends, consumed books and consulted Dr Google and Mister YouTube but is still at a loss.

if that sounds familiar then i have great news!

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR, JASON MORRELL

Jason Morrell in front of the mic

Hi, I'm Jason, from the Gold Coast in Australia.

I remember back to a time in the late 90's when I was at my wits end. I'd been given an assignment from my boss, I couldn't figure it out and the deadline was looming.

Google wasn't a thing yet. Nor was YouTube. I asked around but nobody could help. I visited bookstores (remember those?) but to no avail. I was desperate.

Then I stumbled across a guy, who within 30 minutes answered every question on my mind and highlighted every wrong turn, incorrect decision and dead end I had taken. Game-changing.

I want to be that guy for you.

I also remember sitting with my Dad in the mid 1990s showing him around a computer for the first time. From the questions he was asking, I realised that the things I thought were easy or common knowledge were major stumbling blocks for him.

I learnt to never make assumptions and to take the time to start from the beginning.

As you can see from my picture, I'm a little worn around the edges (let's call it battle-hardened). Raising 4 kids (including one with profound autism) tends to do that to you! But under this rough exterior is a wealth of experience, a rare patience and a strong desire to serve you in whatever way I can.

I know where your sticking points are (even before you do!)

I'll help you knock down barriers and kick some goals.

HIGHLY KNOWLEDGEABLE

I have seen many tutorials on different topics. This is an EXCELLENT course run by a highly knowledgeable, easy going teacher!! Thank you for the hard work you put into creating the course!
